Introducing the the jazz funk collective, a 9 piece band run by london based saxophonist Duncan Eagles. Duncan, despite being just 22 years old is quickly making his mark on the London jazz scene and has appeared at venues in London and around Europe including Ronnie Scotts, The 606 Club, The Bulls Head, The Spitz, Cheltenham International Jazz Festival along side some of the top names of jazz including Dave o Higgins, Derek Nash, John Etheridge, Roy Babbington, Nigel Price, Mornington Lockett to name a few.
This current project is a set of original music composed by Duncan aiming to fuse commercial genres with the fundamentals of jazz music, so you can expect everything from Reggae to Drum n Bass to Hip Hop to Modal Swing.
The band completed a sell out tour of Dublin and Ireland last summer and then went straight into the studio to record their 1st album "A Dummy's Guide to Jazz" which recieved reviews and ratings in national press including Jazzwise Magazine: "Cool, Slick and sounding like old hands already!".
Following the success of the first album, The Jazz Funk Collective have just completed a second, previews can be found at the sounds page.
The group have been gigging steadily since forming around London and whilst having a core of 6 musicians for gigs they are joined by top London players to make up the numbers including the likes of Tony Woods, Derek Nash sax and Sam Leak, Andrea Vicari Keys.

Short Band Bio's
Sam Leak:
21 year old Jazz Pianist (Clapham). Sam has played with some great musicians and at some top venues including Ronnie Scotts, The Bulls Head, Jazz7 Club, Progress Bar etc. Sam is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music, and recently graduated with a degree from Kings College London.
Sam Eagles:
19 year old Alto Saxophonist (Worcester Park, Surrey). Sam studied on The Royal Academy of Music Junior Jazz course with Nick Smart and is currently studying at Trinity College of Music under Russel van Den Berg. He Has played at, Ronnie Scotts, The Bulls Head, The Vortex, The Ram Jam Club and other London venues.
Max Luthert:
19 year old Bass Player (New Malden, Surrey). Max is currently studying electric and upright bass at Trinity College of Music under Steve Watts and ocasionally Mike Janisch. He Has played at, Ronnie Scotts, The Bulls Head, The Ram Jam Club and other London venues.
Chris Packham:
20 year old Drummer (Sutton). Chris is currently studying at Middlesex university with Dave Ohm and has played at The Bulls Head, The Ram Jam Club and many other London Venues.
Leo Appleyard:
18 year old Guitarist (Kingston Upon Thames).Leo studied on The Royal Academy of Music Junior Jazz course with Nick Smart and has just accepted a place a Birmingham Conservatoire of Music under Phil Robson and Dave Cliff. He has played at Ronnie Scotts, The Bulls Head, The Ram Jam Club, and has been lucky enough to sit in recently with Matt Wates and Nick SMart (Cheers Dan!).
Andy Jackson:
16 year old Alto Saxophonist (Epsom) . Andy is currently studying on The Royal Academy of Music Jazz junior Course with Nick Smart. He has played at venues including The Ram Jam Club and the Bulls Head.
